Employers seem to make things as complicated as possible, targeting the perfect employee when advertising jobs. They want motivated people who are willing to work for nothing, or people who show loyalty but don’t expect any in return. I’m quite happy being my own boss, thank you very much! Why anyone would want to go to a job interview and be judged by someone who has no right to judge is beyond me.

I’m sure if the shoe was on the other foot I’d be able to see the sense in what employer’s are doing when they write unrealistic, expectation-filled job descriptions. If I was looking for someone to help me out in my data entry business I’d like to employ someone who was willing to work long hours for free and not take holidays or sick days. That’s just stupid of course! I’ll just continue residing outside of the square, entering data like a well oiled machine and reaping all of the rewards. It’s my life and I’ll do what I want!

I’ve been making money by working since I completed my last HSC exam in November 1986. Two days after putting my pen down I was driving a forklift in Bankstown. I hated the job but appreciated the pay packet every Friday. It has taken me a long time to reach my potential but, thanks to my data entry position, I believe I can continue to grow and eventually prosper. I’ve still got a long way to go but I’m quietly confident of being successful and building a secure work environment for myself. Only time will tell!

The commitment I made to writing at least one blog post a day is starting to really test me. There is only so much one person can say about their home based data entry job without it beginning to sound contrived and boring. Working from home is really challenging and has helped me to develop my managerial and clerical skills. You may already know that because I think I’ve written in a different way about fifteen times already on this blog. I just need people to start finding what I’ve been publishing so I don’t feel as if entering data from home has been a total waste of time.

One of the most important things to remember, when attempting to start a home based career, is also one of the hardest things to do. You have to stay positive! Watching your income fluctuate daily can be like observing the growth of grass and that can be hazardous to your health. Don’t aim too high but never be satisfied with the level you’re at. Today I will sit in front of my computer and enter data until I’m blue in the face, and at the end of the day I will be happy with what I’ve achieved.

I will admit it wasn’t easy getting out of bed this morning. I live in a small town on the mid north coast of New South Wales, on Australia’s east coast and it is almost halfway through winter. The thing that helped me get out of bed was the fact that I believe in the work I’m doing and I am positive that it will make a difference to my lifestyle sooner than later. My data entry career will eventually earn me enough money to buy my own house and live comfortably for the rest of my life. How positive was that?
