No Data Entry Operators
By Leonard Skinthorpe Jr | September 23, 2008
Did someone say there are no data entry operators working from home in Australia? What about me? What am I? Chopped liver? I enter data and I work from home so I guess that makes me the exception to the rule. I’m sure I’m not the only person working full time in their own typing business in this country, not to mention the countless throng of part time employees who type for a living. It really gives me the willies when people make outlandish claims about things they know very little about. The data entry industry doesn’t need that sort of negativity hanging over it.
Back in the old days people would’ve been hanged, drawn, quartered, shot, stabbed and electrocuted for spreading such misinformation but these days they are lauded and extended a heroes welcome wherever they roam. There isn’t a data entry operator working in Australia today who deserves to be tarred with the brush of malevolent hatred or made to feel less human than someone who performs an important job. Just because someone chooses to type for a living doesn’t mean they should be ridiculed and spat upon in public.
