Jobs For The Boys
By Leonard Skinthorpe Jr | August 25, 2008
Data entry positions have been traditionally held by women since the dawn of the typewriter. Lately, however, the balance is being addressed with feminine males like me putting in the hard work and typing from home like demons in drag. I wanted to learn to type from a very young age and despite pressure from male family members and rougher elements of the wider community, I turned my dream into a reality. My hard work paid off recently when I established my own data entry business. At last I can call myself a professional typist and not be lying!
It’s about time data entry positions became jobs for the boys. Women have cornered the market on typing related employment and have laughed in the faces of anyone who suggested it was an injustice. Men can type as well as women. Most people picture men’s fingers as being stumpy and uncoordinated but that could not be further from the truth. The fact of the matter is a lot of men have long slender fingers which allow them to enter data at speeds that rival most ladies. I’m proud of my piano player fingers. Do you have a problem with that?
