Casual Positions Fading Fast
By Leonard Skinthorpe Jr | October 24, 2008
I’m pretty excited about the Rugby League World Cup starting tomorrow but that’s no excuse for me to sit here all day reading the news about it. I’ve got data to enter and the sooner I enter that data the sooner I can read about football (in New South Wales that’s rugby league). This ties in pretty directly with what I’ve said about avoiding distractions when you work from home. It’s even more difficult when your job is based on the internet. All of the information related to your business may be found online but so is a lot of other irrelevant stuff. There’s a time and a place to focus on your hobbies and interests, and there’s a time and a place for data entry.
I thought it would be easy to find a casual data entry job on the internet but I was wrong. I thought I’d be able to apply for a typing position online but I was incorrect. I thought I’d start my own home-based business and strike it rich soon after but I was mistaken. All of the casual positions were fading fast over the horizon and I was running into the setting sun with my arms outstretched reaching for the impossible dream. That may sound a bit dramatic but life is dramatic, isn’t it? Not that dramatic? Oh, OK!
