Death Or Data Entry
By Leonard Skinthorpe Jr | November 2, 2008
A lot of people take their jobs very seriously, don’t they? They swear their allegiance to the company, don’t take sickies and have to be cajoled into taking their holidays. I’m not one of them. When I’m employed by someone else I tend to run out of sickies pretty quickly and end up having to take unpaid leave. Give me death or data entry? I don’t think so. Life’s too short to worry too much about your career. The hours I commit to my occupation should be flexible so that’s why I choose to work from home. I think most data entry operators like it that way.
I hate having to answer to someone else. I hate having to go to the doctor for a certificate to prove that I’m sick. I hate being the subordinate of someone less intelligent than me. Why should Australia’s most amazing data entry operator have to listen to some moron just because some other fool made him my manager? I refuse to. I am my own boss and I always will be. I will spend the rest of my life entering data from home and no one on this planet can stop me. As long as I’m engaged in a legitimate employment situation I’ll be happy.
