I don’t like the work I do, but as long as I get paid on time I don’t care. What is job satisfaction anyway? At the end of the day it’s all about the money, isn’t it? Data entry operators have to eat just like everybody else, so data entry operators have to work just as hard as everybody else. A lot of people think typists have it easy due to the fact there’s no heavy lifting or physical exertion involved in their duties. The fact of the matter is that typing requires great mental strength and patience mixed with a degree of perseverance.
Can you dislike your job but still be satisfied with it on some level? I think you can. Most data entry operators hate the work they do and usually hate themselves as well. Working from home certainly alleviates a lot of the pain involved in the every day boringness of the daily grind. Being able to grab a snack from the kitchen or sit down and watch some television in the middle of the day takes away much of the stress. I can tolerate entering data as long as I earn a living from it, so it looks like I’ll be a data entry operator for a bit longer yet!
