Everyone thinks money is the root of all evil and they’re probably right. It’s amazing what a human being will do to survive, isn’t it? There are worse things you can do than start your own data entry business and work from home, but let’s face it, not many. Typing articles and publishing them on your own website isn’t really having a positive impact on society, is it? It’s not like I’m trying to find a cure for cancer. What I do when I enter data all day long is basically wasting time on a less than grand scale. A person has to eat, though.
I wouldn’t say I’m ashamed of the way I earn a living but I’m definitely not proud. I can’t even imagine working in a job where what I did made a difference to someone else’s life. When I tell people I work from home as a data entry clerk they tend to glaze over and I find it hard to ever regain their respect. I don’t know if it’s due to the fact I work from home or whether the stigma is well and truly attached to the data entry component. Entering data is never going to save anyone’s life but as long as typing is the only skill I possess, that’s what I’m going to have to do.
