I wish you could walk a mile in my shoes. I wish there were enough typing jobs for everyone who wanted one. I wish I could make more money working from home as a data entry operator than the average lawyer makes in a day in court. Well, there goes my three wishes and not one addresses the whole world peace issue. People seem to be more selfish these days, don’t they? Most data entry operators care only about themselves and worry only about finding the data they need to enter to survive.

After spending (wasting) several thousand hours looking for work on the internet I only have one question to ask. Where are the jobs? It shouldn’t be this hard to find a data entry position or a job as a virtual assistant. Anyone with any previous clerical or administrative employment experience should be able find a pathway to their new career online, but that is not proving to be the case. I’ve actually given up on ever getting a home based data entry position and that’s why I limit my typing activities to writing articles for this blog.

I can type quickly and accurately so I became a self-employed typist. My typing abilities are adequate and improving with each day I spend working from home. I don’t want to be the fastest or the best, I just want to enter data for a living. I stopped trying to find an online data entry position long ago. Finding a legitimate job on the internet is similar to trying to find a small stone in a packet of Coco Pops, just about impossible. If you want to do clerical work from the comfort of your own home you’d be better off just manufacturing your own position from scratch.

More data entry clerks work from home now than back in the 1930s. The trend can be attributed to the rise in popularity of the internet and the World Wide Web. Clerical work was much harder to do from the comfort of your own home prior to the online digital delivery of data. There was no point working from home back in the old days because home-based data entry operators would’ve had to travel great distances just to obtain the data that needed to be entered. It made more sense for them to be based at the source of the data.

I’m looking forward to the day when I can log on to my bank account and watch the balance rise like the level of the Bellinger River after 2 straight days of solid rain. When that day comes I will have to be careful not to get caught up in the moment. Every data entry operator knows how important it is to take one day at a time. If you stop typing for an hour while your watching the product of your income generating efforts manifest themselves, your job will suffer and eventually effect the bottom line adversely, to say the very least.

Looking for legitimate job prospects was utmost on my mind for a six month period about two years ago. If you’ve read any other articles on this blog you’d know that this is a rehash of everything I’ve written previously. I just thought I needed to reiterate and reinforce my position and highlight the importance of the path I’ve chosen. As you know, I am an Australian data entry operator working from home in my own typing business. I type whatever I want and get paid for the pleasure. The data I enter is a product of my imagination and approximately as valuable as gold.

Every article I publish on this website is filled with data I have entered myself. Each post is a different data entry story full of information about working from home and being your own boss. If you read between the lines you will notice that I don’t offer any specific details on how to start your home-based business but I do tend to relay my own experiences with a certain je ne sais quoi. I don’t pretend to be au fait with all aspects of the data entry industry but I like sharing my own opinion laced with a bit of avant garde flair.

I’ve been trying to set my business up perfectly to set a strong foundation for the future. The only problem is that I want to make money now. I’m sick of waiting. It’s time for me to take the bull by the horns and enter the data that needs to be entered in order for me to be successful in my chosen occupation. It’s all well and good to set achievable goals and take baby steps towards your destination but sooner or later you have to get paid otherwise you don’t eat. I love typing as much as the next man but when will the articles I type start reaping rewards?

I got sick and tired of working for the man a long time ago. That doesn’t mean I stopped doing it straight away though. I was worried about leaving a secure job for the uncertainty of the alternative. I didn’t realise then that I would end up being one of the best looking data entry operators on the internet. Nor did I know how valuable my typing skills would eventually become, or how naturally being my own boss would come to me. All in all I’m happy with what I’ve achieved since going solo in my data entry business but I can’t wait till I start getting paid!

I’m forty years old but my typing skills are still improving. The older you get, the harder it becomes for you to gain employment. It becomes more and more difficult to convince a prospective employer to hire you based on your interview skills alone. It doesn’t seem to matter how fat your resume is or how compelling your references are, they judge you immediately, based on how many lines you have on your face. It is this sort of prejudice in the workplace that led me to begin my data entry business. Old typists never die, they just become their own boss and work from home!
