I’ve been looking for the road to happiness all my life but it’s really hard to find without a map! One of the first steps to making sure you’re heading in the right direction is to sort out which way your career is heading. No one likes to admit it, but making money is a very important part of the whole process we call life. I feel confident that the path I’m on will eventually meet up with either the road to happiness or easy street some time not too far down the track. As a practicing data entry operator I know too well what it means to let your fingers do the walking (and talking!).

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning and, once again, I’m sitting in front of my computer typing my fingers to the bone in an attempt to generate money. The whole idea behind starting my own data entry business was to make a bit of extra cash on the side, working evenings after my day job. Now I spend most of my waking hours at my PC trying to earn enough pay to maintain my lifestyle or at least put food on the table for my family. Well…I don’t really have the responsibility of providing for my family per se, but you know what I mean.

During the two years I spent researching and experimenting to see if a career in data entry was a feasible option for me, I was surprised to find just how few online employment opportunities there actually were. In the end I decided to let a typing job evolve from my internet diary and the rest is history. I have found that if you want to succeed in a legitimate data entry position, then you have to be more than willing to put in the hours of hard work necessary to generate any meaningful income.

Well…they said it couldn’t be done but, here it is…one week later and my blog is still as popular as ever. I’ve been feeling a bit down over the last few days. I’m beginning to think I’m suffering from “home based occupational blues” or something. Online data entry jobs can cause more stress than they’re worth sometimes. If it’s not some form of repetitive strain injury from typing too much, it’s some weird psychological trauma stemming from the fact that you only get paid once a month. Is working from home really all it’s hyped up to be?

I took some time off from my usual hectic data entry schedule to eat out at our local Thai restaurant tonight. It is the middle of winter here so I needed to rug up. I grabbed a jacket out of the wardrobe that I haven’t worn for about 12 months and found a ten dollar note in one of the inside pockets. I just made ten bucks without having to do any work! Don’t you just love it when pay day comes early? I do. I wish I could establish a new career around finding money in neglected coat pockets.

Do you know anyone looking for a reliable data entry operator based in Australia? If you do, don’t bother telling me. I’m already working 24/7 typing this online wealth of wisdom. I’m sure I’d be able to pass all of the essential criteria for the post but what’s the point? I won’t truly fit the job description because, unfortunately, they broke the mould after I was created. If you’re ever in trouble, you’ll find me wherever there is data that needs to be entered. They call me the Data Entry Avenger! (no they don’t).

Everyone seems to think that being your own boss is the be all and end all but that’s not necessarily the case. Home based clerks, like myself, struggle to make ends meet like any other employee in the workforce. Well…that’s not exactly true. All I do is type these blog posts and call myself a data entry operator, and get paid for the privilege. You won’t find me whining about how unfair my job is or how my manager doesn’t treat me well. I love working from home and hope I never have to go back to the way things were before.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever considered giving up your day job and starting your own business. Wow, look at all those hands! I’ve been dreaming about setting up a passive income on the internet for a few years now, and it looks like I’ve finally hit that dirty old nail on the head. I’ve been entering data like a madman lately and it’s starting to pay off big time. Well, not exactly big time but….maybe little time. If there were any real opportunities out there, I’d be the first one in line typing for cash.

It’s 10:00 am and I just dragged my sorry behind out of bed. I love sleeping in on Saturdays! This is why I decided to work at home in the first place. Having the flexibility to determine my work hours allows me to organise my day around any activities or events I wish to be involved in. During the research phase of my current career journey I was very keen to find as much information about part time data entry jobs as possible. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be. No one is giving this sort of information away for free.

Thank god it’s Friday! Not that it really matters to me anymore. Working from home has given me the flexibility to complete tasks whenever I want. That takes a bit of discipline but, to tell you the truth; I’m more inclined to work all weekend and into the small hours of the night during the week. Performing data entry from home has turned me into the tireless, workaholic I never was when I worked for someone else. I enjoy turning MY time into MY money whenever and wherever I feel the need.
