I don’t like the work I do, but as long as I get paid on time I don’t care. What is job satisfaction anyway? At the end of the day it’s all about the money, isn’t it? Data entry operators have to eat just like everybody else, so data entry operators have to work just as hard as everybody else. A lot of people think typists have it easy due to the fact there’s no heavy lifting or physical exertion involved in their duties. The fact of the matter is that typing requires great mental strength and patience mixed with a degree of perseverance.

I just won the employee of the year award where I work. Even though I am my own boss and no one else is employed in my data entry business, I was still surprised and very excited to receive these accolades. It’s always good to be rewarded and have your hard work recognised. Managers should always take the time to acknowledge the efforts of their subordinates. It is good for morale to have employees thinking they are appreciated by their superiors. Most data entry clerks are very gullible and will bend over backwards to accommodate you if you dangle the carrot.

Everyone thinks money is the root of all evil and they’re probably right. It’s amazing what a human being will do to survive, isn’t it? There are worse things you can do than start your own data entry business and work from home, but let’s face it, not many. Typing articles and publishing them on your own website isn’t really having a positive impact on society, is it? It’s not like I’m trying to find a cure for cancer. What I do when I enter data all day long is basically wasting time on a less than grand scale. A person has to eat, though.

One of the things you have to watch when you work from home is becoming lazy. Sometimes I realise there is not enough work happening and I have to quickly enter some data or type up an article for a website. You need to limit the distractions and commit yourself to completing a certain amount of set tasks every day. Data entry can be a boring job so it’s vital to divide your work space up as to avoid the temptation of partaking in more exciting activities. If you enjoy the odd alcoholic beverage it would not be a good idea to keep a bar fridge next to your computer.

I really don’t feel like posting to my blog today but I have chosen professional typing as a job so I will do it. I watched the mighty New Zealand Warriors beat Melbourne Storm yesterday and now I am recovering from the celebrations. The key to success in my line of work is having self-discipline. It’s vital to have a plan and to stick to that plan no matter how much you don’t feel like it. I’d like to be laying down in front of the television right now but I’m here being the best little data entry operator I can be.

Most people are unhappy with their current employment situation. Do you think your job is boring? Mine is. Everyone dreams of becoming a data entry operator and working from home, thinking the work is easy and glamorous…..but they’re wrong. The average individual believes that typing for a living would be the ideal way to earn money but they don’t understand how much hard work is involved in order to become an overnight success. I blame the media for glorifying home based clerical jobs, portraying them in an unrealistically flattering manner.

Who wouldn’t want to work from home? Clerk related activities, or clerical work as I call them, are easy to do and pay quite handsomely. Of course you have to find the job in order to start performing it and that is the difficult part. I understand that not everyone is as resourceful as me and some may struggle to start their own data entry business from home. It’s also important to remember that I am not really much of an authority on this subject insofar as I’m just typing blog posts every day to let you know how I feel about the whole home based data entry industry.

I call myself a data entry operator but I guess you could call me a virtual assistant if you wanted to. The word virtual just refers to the fact that I work online from home, and although I don’t assist anyone as such, I do assist myself by earning money so I can pay the rent and buy food. Working in a job based on the internet can be difficult insofar as it sometimes seems fake or surreal. Without leaving my house I enter data from my home office and, miraculously, my pay ends up in my bank account. I think my business is a really magical career opportunity.

I think it’s important to reduce the amount of distractions in the workplace if you want to run a successful online data entry business. The chance of office relationships getting in the way are greatly reduced once you’ve made the decision to work alone. Being attracted to other data entry clerks in your general vicinity can cloud your judgement and inspire shoddy workmanship. If you are the only person typing in your office then you don’t ever run the risk of that happening and your production values will skyrocket as a result.

Trying to earn a living on the internet is like learning to work in an entirely new way. Anyone who has been successful has, at one point or another, had to embrace multi-tasking in order to survive. Entering data isn’t something I’ve wanted to do since I was a small child. Evolution played a great role in turning me into a data entry operator. My whole working life, up until two years ago, revolved around being told what to do by a boss, foreman or manager. I decided I wanted to change that situation so I started taking steps to ensure I could.
