Why would you bother looking for a legitimate data entry job online if you’re not attracted to the prospect of working from home as a typist? It’s hard to work some people out, isn’t it? There are those among us who get obsessed with employment opportunities and there are others who never give any thought to their career path. Boy, am I glad I established my data entry business when I did? Talk about striking while the iron is hot!

I literally squandered two years of my life fantasising about getting a job on the internet. In the end I created my own data entry position out of nothing, and the rest is history or will be eventually. Legitimate online typing jobs are few and far between but don’t let that stop you from spending hour upon hour scouring the world wide web for the easy way out. I wanted to work from home more than anything else on Earth so I bit the bullet and made my dreams come true. It doesn’t have to be a data entry job either, it could be a job driving a garbage truck.

It’s hard to avoid being stressed when your job is not secure. My casual data entry job is great but could terminate at any time without explanation or warning. My success is based on maintaining a certain level of traffic to my websites and blogs. Search results are out of my hand so I have no control over how many people get to read my articles. It’s hard to sustain any sort of happiness when you’re not sure when the money is going to dry up. Does casual employment kill? Not directly but over a long period of time…..probably.

I’m hoping my self-proclaimed data entry position starts paying like a full time job soon. I certainly put in enough hours to expect a better return. If I was working on a more casual basis then I’d be happy to receive the pay I’m getting now, but I’m busting my gut and for what? Nothing….or almost nothing. If I didn’t enjoy entering data so much I’d be more annoyed than I am at the moment. Casual data entry jobs cause more workers to become ill and despondent. I don’t know if that’s true but it sure does sound dramatic, doesn’t it?

If you’re happy to just scrape by, paying your rent every fortnight and having enough left over for groceries, then my casual approach works. If you want to be a millionaire you’re not going to do it by following my lead. I’d like to earn more money but I’m too laid back. In order to accumulate wealth I’d have to enter a lot more data than I’m willing to enter. My casual data entry job is boring. When I reach the point where I believe I’ve made enough money I have to stop. After all, you’re only as good as the last batch of data you entered, aren’t you?

One day I’d like to travel around Australia, entering data as I go. People would point at my brightly coloured van and say something about how cool I look. I would stop every so often and type a blog post on my laptop computer and publish it next time I had access to the internet. Would I be Australia’s first mobile data entry operator? I don’t know and to tell you the truth, I don’t care. My main concern at the moment is being able to pay for life’s necessities like rent and chocolate.

I’m pretty excited about the Rugby League World Cup starting tomorrow but that’s no excuse for me to sit here all day reading the news about it. I’ve got data to enter and the sooner I enter that data the sooner I can read about football (in New South Wales that’s rugby league). This ties in pretty directly with what I’ve said about avoiding distractions when you work from home. It’s even more difficult when your job is based on the internet. All of the information related to your business may be found online but so is a lot of other irrelevant stuff. There’s a time and a place to focus on your hobbies and interests, and there’s a time and a place for data entry.

I thought it would be easy to find a casual data entry job on the internet but I was wrong. I thought I’d be able to apply for a typing position online but I was incorrect. I thought I’d start my own home-based business and strike it rich soon after but I was mistaken. All of the casual positions were fading fast over the horizon and I was running into the setting sun with my arms outstretched reaching for the impossible dream. That may sound a bit dramatic but life is dramatic, isn’t it? Not that dramatic? Oh, OK!

What can I say about my casual employment situation that hasn’t already been said? I’ve told you how much trouble I had trying to find an online data entry job and how I ended up just creating this blog to vent my frustration. I’ve told you how much I enjoy typing and that my imagination has no bounds. I don’t know if there is anything more I can say about data entry work without sounding like someone who thinks they have the right to sell their opinions as fact. If you want to work from home I suggest you start straight away, insofar as it would be smart to avoid the rush.

I’ve always taken a pretty casual approach to my vocational pursuits but since I started working from home as a data entry operator I’ve surprised myself with just how casual I can be. I’ve always looked at my jobs as necessary evils so I didn’t have to look too far for inspiration when I decided to become my own boss. Being both the employer and the employee seemed like a very attractive prospect to me prior to starting my data entry business. I wouldn’t change my current employment situation for anything else. I love me just the way I am.

I’ve made a fair amount of money working as a data entry clerk and I’m worth every cent. There are other people typing from home for a job in Australia but I’m probably in the top three when looks are taken into consideration. When I’m not in front of my computer completing the tasks and duties involved in finishing my job, you’ll find me down at the local café with my laptop, drinking hot chocolate and writing articles for my websites and blogs. Making money is my primary concern today as it is on most Thursdays throughout the year.

I’m so satisfied with the way I’m performing my data entry duties at the moment I think I’ll give myself a pay rise. I love being the only employee in my enterprise. It allows me to be very generous with myself when it comes to bonuses and perks. I’m a more than fair employer when it comes to treating me better than I have ever been treated in any previous job I’ve had. At the end of the day I have to be able to look myself in the eye and know how absolutely fantastic I am, and at the moment I have no trouble doing that!

The best thing about basing your business at home and being your own boss is the lack of work related stress you have to endure. Sometimes I put myself under a bit of pressure by trying to complete my data entry tasks within a certain timeframe but mostly I am relaxed and ready for anything. My chosen profession gives me the freedom to be flexible with my work hours and as a result I have been guilty of exhibiting lazy behaviour on more than several occasions. At the end of the day I make sure I get the job done because I know that I am the only one who will suffer if I don’t.

With less than three weeks until spring starts here in Australia, I am looking forward to taking a bit of a break from my data entry duties to focus on my photography hobby for a little while. I will still type my daily blog posts because I would hate to disappoint my loyal fans. I always vowed not to forget the little people when I made it big and I stick by that decision 100%. Being one of the world’s most handsome data entry operators can be taxing sometimes, but I’m in it for the long haul.

Whether you choose to work from home or not usually comes down to individual lifestyle choices. Not all workers want to be based at home. A lot of people want secure jobs where a boss tells them exactly what tasks need to be performed and when they need to be completed by. There are a handful of folks who have taken the plunge and started their own online business. I am a fulltime data entry operator working from home in my own business. I have hired myself on a casual basis and, up until this point, I have had no problems with me.

I like to take a casual approach when it comes to matters of vocation. Being a creative data entry clerk takes a lot of skill and lots of hard work and determination. I like working from home because I don’t like being told what to do. Being my own boss allows me to take a casual position and turn it into a fulltime career. I was so happy to find a secure and legitimate online job I slept in till noon five days running. When I finally got to work I found I couldn’t stop. I’ve been entering data ever since. Old typists never die they just keep typing!

I’ve been trying to secure the ideal employment situation for a number of years now to no avail. A data entry position that allows me to work from home would be my perfect job. Writing, typing and maintaining this blog is a good start but really isn’t what I was looking for when my job search started a few years ago. A casual, part time position would be good because I’d like to have flexible hours so I can be spontaneous and carefree at all times. If I want to take leave or just have a day off, I’d like to have the freedom to do so.

It’s all fine and dandy to say you want to be your own boss but whatever I choose to do in the end, it’s going to be hard work and that is what scares me the most. Don’t get me wrong, I am willing to put in the necessary time and effort to create a long lasting and legitimate career in data entry but I’d prefer to do it following the easiest path possible. It’s beginning to sound like I’m looking for a job that doesn’t exist. All I want to do is type for a couple of hours a day and then sit back and watch my bank balance rise.
