I think if members of royal families had to have jobs they would probably be involved in data entry work. Can you imagine someone wearing a crown sitting in front of their computer typing their latest blog post? Most data entry clerks, whether they work part time or full, have long since believed they were engaged in the occupation of kings. No one else kept the faith! Working from home suddenly seemed like being employed in your own castle, didn’t it? Being a professional typist became something to be proud of instead of something you were deeply ashamed of.

Everyone thinks money is the root of all evil and they’re probably right. It’s amazing what a human being will do to survive, isn’t it? There are worse things you can do than start your own data entry business and work from home, but let’s face it, not many. Typing articles and publishing them on your own website isn’t really having a positive impact on society, is it? It’s not like I’m trying to find a cure for cancer. What I do when I enter data all day long is basically wasting time on a less than grand scale. A person has to eat, though.

One of the things you have to watch when you work from home is becoming lazy. Sometimes I realise there is not enough work happening and I have to quickly enter some data or type up an article for a website. You need to limit the distractions and commit yourself to completing a certain amount of set tasks every day. Data entry can be a boring job so it’s vital to divide your work space up as to avoid the temptation of partaking in more exciting activities. If you enjoy the odd alcoholic beverage it would not be a good idea to keep a bar fridge next to your computer.

Is there any truth in the rumour that the federal government will be handing out typewriters to the poor? My internet connection has been a source of constant frustration lately, making me wonder about reverting to the old ways. Imagine being a data entry operator working from home and having to type your articles manually, print them off and mail to some else to post for you. The whole idea of getting an online job is having the convenience of not having to move from the ergonomic chair in front of your PC. I’m not the happiest data entry clerk in Australia at the moment!

If you have ever tried to search for jobs online you know how frustrating it can be. You get excited when you read the description in the search results but when you navigate to the page in question you find nothing but rubbish. I hate those sites which lure you with promises of earning thousands of dollars a month to work from home in a data entry job, only to disappoint you by making you pay for information. Most people would be wary and refuse to be tricked into spending their hard earned money, but some individuals pay for information which ends up being useless.

I really don’t feel like posting to my blog today but I have chosen professional typing as a job so I will do it. I watched the mighty New Zealand Warriors beat Melbourne Storm yesterday and now I am recovering from the celebrations. The key to success in my line of work is having self-discipline. It’s vital to have a plan and to stick to that plan no matter how much you don’t feel like it. I’d like to be laying down in front of the television right now but I’m here being the best little data entry operator I can be.

Every article I publish on this website is filled with data I have entered myself. Each post is a different data entry story full of information about working from home and being your own boss. If you read between the lines you will notice that I don’t offer any specific details on how to start your home-based business but I do tend to relay my own experiences with a certain je ne sais quoi. I don’t pretend to be au fait with all aspects of the data entry industry but I like sharing my own opinion laced with a bit of avant garde flair.

I’ve been trying to set my business up perfectly to set a strong foundation for the future. The only problem is that I want to make money now. I’m sick of waiting. It’s time for me to take the bull by the horns and enter the data that needs to be entered in order for me to be successful in my chosen occupation. It’s all well and good to set achievable goals and take baby steps towards your destination but sooner or later you have to get paid otherwise you don’t eat. I love typing as much as the next man but when will the articles I type start reaping rewards?

I haven’t come across any employment opportunities for typists in a while? Not that I’ve been actively searching mind you. It can’t be easy for those dedicated data entry clerks and virtual assistants out there. They spend hours typing every day just to hone their keyboard skills in the hope that, one day, they will find a secure and rewarding career. I learned to type while I was working for an Australian search engine optimisation company a few years ago. One of my duties was to enter data so it was important for me to learn how to touch type.

Many years ago my father sat me on his knee and he told me that work can be fun. Why would anyone lie to a child? I think it probably isn’t healthy to enjoy your job too much, but wouldn’t it be good to be able to tolerate your employment situation for about eight hours a day? I wish I had a dollar for every bit of data I’ve entered over the last couple of years. I’d be rich! I don’t hate my data entry position but I would be lying if I ever said it was fun. If you enjoyed working too much you wouldn’t do anything else, and that’s the risk you take when you decide to work from home.
