Part Time But Not Casual

A Work From Home Data Entry Story

If it was actually possible to obtain part time data entry work from home, I’d be one of the first people lining up, knocking on the door and demanding my share of the pie. In actual fact, there is very little money to be made in this fashion. I’ve never met anyone willing to admit that they’ve made a career out of surfing the internet and typing. You may as well apply for a casual job at a supermarket and just grin and bear the tedious duties for the next thirty years or so.

I was speaking to a friend of mine the other day and he asked me if I thought it was possible to find a part time data entry job via the internet. I looked at him sideways for a moment and then dramatically spun around and pointed at him, “You couldn’t handle being your own boss. Do you know how distracted you’d get working at home? You’ve got no idea, you fool!” He started crying and ran home. Thinking about it later, I realised that I probably didn’t need to be so harsh, but I just get so frustrated listening to people trying to get rich quick.

I have always dreamt of being a real boy. My father carved me out of wood. He started his own home based business many years ago and has enjoyed a very lucrative occupation ever since. However, he never took my feelings into account. I found a part time data entry position on the internet and started banging away with my wooden fingers until I’d earned enough money to buy my father’s business and throw him out on the street. My friends think I’m crazy but I know I am!
